Micro-Needling
Environ Roll-CIT micro-needling is a revolutionary way to stimulate normal collagen production for smoothing skin and treating fine wrinkles.
This is a development of the Environ Roll-CIT Medical needling which has been featured on television in the USA. Medical needling uses 3mm needles to penetrate deeper into the skin and this does cause bruising and swelling. On the other hand, Micro-needling uses needles that only penetrate to a maximum of 1mm and this causes virtually no bruising and minimal swelling. With Micro-needling you can return to work the day after the treatment without any signs except some pink skin as though you have been exposed to the sun. A series of six Micro-needling sessions should be done at intervals ranging from once a week to once a month – depending on the degree of improvement that is required. A major advantage of Micro-needling is that it can be done for lax skin or wrinkles of the face, upper lip lines, neck, décolleté, arms, abdomen, buttocks and legs. It is also for shallow acne scars and stretch marks.
Roll-CIT Medical needling causes microscopic breaks in the blood vessels immediately below the surface layer of the skin and this releases platelets that are important for making blood clot when a blood vessel has been opened. The platelets release a series of growth factors which promote the production of collagen and elastin amongst other things. Of course this happens at a microscopical level and we need to boost the chain of events to or to the treatment promote as much elastin and collagen as we can in order to tighten and smoothen the skin as much as possible. The one way we know we can boost collagen production is to prepare the skin with vitamin A (available at Orchid Salon) prior to the treatment and then maintain an enhanced state of collagen and elastin production by continue the skin care regime thereafter.
Vitamin A, Environ AVST creams levels 1 – 5, acts on the DNA of about 1000 genes, and amongst it’s many other actions, stimulates the production of collagen. Environ products have been specially formulated to supply doses of vitamin A to equate to the effects of retinoc acid without inducing irritation such as a retinoid reaction. Vitamin A, one can say switches on the factories for collagen and elastin, however normal collagen cannot be made without vitamin C. Environ products have been designed to deliver high dose of vitamin C that actually penetrates into the skin cells and induces the high levels of vitamin C that are required when we need to make greater amounts of collagen. Vitamin C, C-Quence, Colostrum and C-Boost also stimulates the production of collagen through activity on the DNA.
Preparation for Micro-Needling
It is essential to prepare the skin thoroughly prior to needling. On average one skin cycle should be enough to make changes in the skin to promote healing, improve the resistance of the skin and augment collagen production. The use of the Environ Ionzyme C-Quence gel and cream is specially recommended for a minimum of three weeks prior to the treatment. Longer period of preparations is associated with faster healing and better results.
Care after your Micro-Needling
You should continue your normal skin care regime both day and night. You will easily be able to return to regular active the following your treatment. By about 10 days after the treatment your skin will become more radiant. You can do needling at any intervals between one week to a maximum of four weeks.
