What is BOTOX Cosmetic®? BOTOX Cosmetic® is a treatment for wrinkles such as frown lines, forehead wrinkles & crows feet.
Is it Safe? Yes! BOTOX Cosmetic® has been available for 20 years and has been used to treat many neuromuscular diseases. In fact it is used in children as young as 2 yrs. old to treat Cerebral Palsy and has been proven to be very safe through many years of extensive testing and research. BOTOX Cosmetic® is an approved prescription drug used to treat patients for cosmetic wrinkles.
Isn’t it poison? Isn’t it botulism? No, BOTOX Cosmetic® is NOT botulism and it will not cause food poisoning. Botulism is the name of an illness not the name of the product. BOTOX Cosmetic® is a natural, purified protein. It is an approved prescription drug that is used in very tiny doses.
How does it work? BOTOX Cosmetic® works by relaxing the muscles underneath the skin to create a smooth and refreshed appearance.
What can I expect during the treatment? Generally, after the consultation, the procedure only takes up to 15 minutes. It is injected with a very tiny needle. It is so quick and safe that you can immediately return to your daily activities (and no one will know you have had it done!)
How quickly does it work? Is it Permanent? It can take up to 2 weeks for it to take full effect. No – BOTOX Cosmetic® is not permanent. It lasts between 3-4 months on average but everyone is different.
Does it hurt? Most patients say it feels just like quick little pinches although everyone is different. Our patients usually say, “Is that all?”
I don’t want to look like a mask without expression – will that happen?
We ensure you get the look you want – as natural as you want. Your needs & interests are discussed during your consultation to ensure you are happy with the results.
What are the side effects? Side effects are very rare and are not permanent. Rarely, there can be a slight headache or some minor bruising which is easily covered up with makeup.
How much does it cost? The cost depends on the amount of BOTOX Cosmetic® that you require. A proper consultation with our clinic is required in order to determine what is right for you. Generally, the price ranges from $400 and up or $10.00 a unit.

What areas can I treat with Juvéderm™? The most appropriate lines to treat with Juvéderm™ are those that are described as static—the lines you can see when your face is still. Juvéderm™ can also be used to enhance, or "plump up", your lips, for soft, subtle results that leave you looking your best.
How long does Juvéderm™ last? The unique formulation of Juvéderm™ provides results that last up to 1 year*, longer than other HA dermal fillers.

How long before I see results? Results are instant. You will see an immediate improvement in the treatment area. Most people need one treatment to achieve an optimal outcome. Supplemental "touch-up" treatments may be required to achieve and maintain the desired look.
What is hyaluronic acid? Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a complex sugar naturally found in many tissues of the body such as skin and cartilage. It binds to water to create more volume and elasticity in the skin to correct the appearance of wrinkles and facial folds.
How is Juvéderm™ soft replenishing gel filler used in treatment? Your healthcare professional will inject Juvéderm™ under your skin using a fine needle to smooth away fine lines, wrinkles, folds and scars. The smooth gel flows easily into the skin, providing a soft, natural look and feel. You will see an immediate improvement in the treatment areas.
What will treatment with Juvéderm™ soft replenishing gel filler accomplish? Is treatment with Juvéderm™ painful? Juvéderm™ is injected directly into the skin using a fine needle to reduce injection discomfort. Your doctor may choose to numb (anaesthetize) the treatment area to further minimize discomfort. The smooth consistency gel of Juvéderm™ allows your doctor to administer it easily and smoothly.
How much does a treatment cost? The cost of treatment will vary depending on your specific needs and the area being treated. In general, treatments can range from $300 to $1,000.
What are the possible side effects? Juvéderm™ is generally well tolerated. Possible side effects are mild to moderate in nature and lasts less than 7 days. They may include temporary skin reactions such as redness, tenderness and bruising.
Can people with different skin tones/colours be treated with Juvéderm™? Yes. In fact, Juvéderm™ is the first hyaluronic acid dermal filler with proven safety and effectiveness in persons of colour. Studies with Juvéderm™ showed no increased risk of hyperpigmentation or hypertrophic scarring in patients of colour. |
